Hi there & welcome to Annie's Place. A place inspired by and named after my late Grandmother Annie. Somewhere I can be creative, and share my love for all things handmade. I like nothing better than sitting with hook & yarn, crafting something home spun & completely unique, or rustling up some yummy baked goodies. I live in a town with a beautiful embankment, situated on the River Great Ouse. You may know me as CosyKitty on Ravelry. Why not stop a while.....?!!

Tea, cake and crochet

February 1st, can you believe it? It feels like I've barely come up for air this last few weeks. Lots on the horizon, but not a great deal to share with you here today.

However, there's still plenty of tea drinking, cake eating and crocheting going on. I'm making some slow, but steady progress on one of my many blanket WIPs. It's all been quite yummy!

The sun is out today hoorah, so I've been able to take advantage of some good light to snap a few pics of the wristies I crocheted up in super quick time. I used the lovely Catherine Wheel Stitch from Erika Knight's book Crochet Workshop, and some Hayfield Bonus DK acrylic yarn in a lovely powder blue colour. It's not the best yarn for the project, but was cheap enough for me to experiment with, so I'm happy with the outcome.

So in the words of Porky Pig
(which is what I'll end up like if I don't stop eating cake)
"That's All Folks"

Back soon

  9. The wristies look good, I keep meaning to try that stitch. Your blanket is looking gorgeous too with very calming colours. Have you been watching the interior design challenge? I'm loving it at the moment; I never thought about how many skills are needed to renovate a room. I made a cowl using alpaca the other week and this yarn would look good for your wristie pattern. Enjoy February xxx

I wish I'd had tea and cake today, I never got round to buying milk :(

    1. Hi Charami, I'm so happy to hear you like them. They were crocheted flat in rows, and then seamed :)

  26. Gorgeous looking blanket and wristies, love that powder blue colour. Did you make the white throw in the background, if so what pattern did you use please? I've been admiring it in your banner for a while and would love to make one for my bedroom :-)

    1. Hi Andrea,

Thank you for your kind words. Sadly I cannot claim the white throw as my own creation. I found this beauty at a local antiques emporium near to where I live.
